Does modernization preserve or improve the economic value of the building?
Modernization should preserve, improve, and where possible increase the long-term value of the building and its energy systems.
How should the methodology change?
The methodology evolves through evidence, experience across sites, and meaningful technological change — not because one project produced an unexpected result or a new technology happens to appear.
Does the equipment itself still have useful value after it leaves its original application?
An energy asset may retain functional or economic value through continued use, redeployment, refurbishment, or another application. Replacement does not automatically mean disposal.
What can we learn across buildings, assets, and modernization outcomes?
Experience accumulated across multiple facilities can strengthen future decisions. The network becomes more intelligent as verified information accumulates.
